Welcome to ESE! ❤️

My name is Darla Raile, and I’m originally from St. Francis, KS. I attended FHSU for my undergraduate work before beginning my teaching career in Salina. During my time in Salina, I taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade, and Title I. I also earned two Master’s degrees from Baker University—an MA in Education and an MS in Building Leadership. 🎓📚

I later returned to St. Francis, where I taught 4th grade and 5th/6th ELA for a year before stepping into the K–5 principal role. I served as principal there for six years before returning to the Salina area. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to lead Ell-Saline Elementary, and this year marks my fourth year at ESE! 🎉

Outside of school, I love spending time with family and keeping up with my niece and nephew and all of their activities—they definitely keep me busy! ❤️ I also enjoy traveling whenever I get the chance and tinkering around outside. Whether it’s working on a project, fixing something up, or just enjoying the outdoors.

I’m excited for another great year and look forward to continuing to build excellence across our building and district while making ESE a place where students and staff can learn, grow, and thrive. ⭐
