Greater Salina Community Foundation

The Salina Greater Community Foundation scholarships are an incredible opportunity for local students. The Foundation offers a wide range of scholarships for students pursuing college, vocational training, or other educational goals. Kansas Masonic Essay Contest

Select a charitable organization within your community that does excellent work and explain why you believe this organization warrants financial consideration and support. Note: Should your essay be one of the top eight chosen this year, an award of $1,000 will be given to your chosen charitable organization by the local Masonic Lodge.

Scholarships/Grants offered by the State of Kansas

Each scholarship has its own eligibility criteria and application requirements. Generally, each scholarship program requires the recipient to:

• Be a Kansas resident
• Enroll in a qualified program
• Enroll at a Kansas college or university
• Not already awarded an undergraduate degree, unless you are applying for the Nursing or Teaching Service Scholarships

The Gate Scholarship -The Gates Scholarship (TGS) is a highly selective, last-dollar scholarship for outstanding, minority, high school seniors from low-income households.

Kansas Promise Scholarship

The Kansas Promise Scholarship act is available at all Kansas Community Colleges and is a first come first serve scholarship with no deadline (Seniors could apply now for summer or next fall theoretically).  To see the programs eligible at each college visit kacct.org and then click on the individual school links.  All information about this new scholarship, which pays for EVERYTHING (Tuition, Fees, Books, Supplies) only room and board are not covered, is listed on the KACCT website.  There is $10 million dollars available across the state to ensure Kansas students who want to study in the most in-demand fields can do so at no cost to them.  The fields of Physical or Mental Healthcare, Advanced Manufacturing and Building Trades, Early Childhood or Elementary Education, Information Technology, and each school gets to choose one more program area are eligible.  In exchange for the scholarship (which funds technical certificates in addition to anything up to and including an associates degree in the eligible fields), the only thing the student must do is complete the program that they choose and then live and work in Kansas for two years post-completion (the two year commitment can be delayed if they pursue additional higher education).

• Dell Scholars Program - Recognizes academic potential and determination in students that have a definite need for financial assistance.
• Fastweb - Create a profile and let Fastweb do the research on scholarships, internships colleges and more for you.
• Gates Millennium Scholars - Provides outstanding low-income African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, and Hispanic American students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education in any discipline they choose.
• Going Merry - A free, one-stop scholarship platform. It matches you with scholarships and then helps you apply directly. It has both local and national scholarships and you can bulk-apply for multiple scholarships, which share similar essay prompts, using one application.
• Goizueta Legacy Scholarship - Provides scholarships for the children of Coca-Cola employees.
• HSF Finder (Hispanic Scholarship Fund) - Scholarship information for Latino students.
• Jack Kent Cooke Foundation - A national scholarship provider dedicated to advancing the education of promising students who have financial need. Open to high-achieving high school seniors who seek to attend and graduate from some of the nation's best four-year college and universities.
• KnowHow2GO - Complete information on college prep, whether in middle school or seniors.
• Native Forward Scholarship Fund - Throughout our 50-year history, Native Forward has empowered over 22,000 students from over 500 Tribes in all 50 states by providing scholarship dollars and support for services for undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees.
• The NSHSS Foundation - The NSHSS Foundation fosters the growth of students pursuing the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math), business, economics, public policy, and environmental science and sustainability fields. The NSHSS Foundation connects young scholars with additional opportunities to advance their education, personal growth and career interests.
• Reagan Foundation Scholarships - Scholarship opportunities for outstanding student leaders.
• Scholar Snapp - A free, simple-to-use data standard that allows students to reuse their application information - including contact information, essays, transcripts, etc. - from one scholarship application to another thereby streamlining the college scholarship application process.

• Thurgood Marshall College Fund - Provides scholarships, programmatic and capacity-building support to the 47 public Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
• UNCF - Awards 10,000 students each year through 400 scholarship and internship programs so that students from low- and moderate-income families can afford college tuition, books and room, and board.
