2026 CWDAK Scholarship
The County weed Directors Association of Kansas (CWDAK) is a professional organization providing training and assistance for the 105 weed directors in Kansas. The CWDAK would like to help students prepare for careers in the agriculture/agronomy industry and increase awareness of the County Weed Department’s role in local government. The CWDAK will be sponsoring at least four $500 scholarships for the Fall semester. These scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors majoring in Agriculture or a plant science related field at an accredited Kansas college.
REQUIREMENTS Kansas High School Senior Grade point average of 3.0 on 4-pt. scale or higher Attending a Kansas college or university for the Fall semester and enrolled as a full-time student with at least 12 hours. Majoring in Agriculture or plant science field (preference to agronomy and plant science) Return completed application to the scholarship committee. This must be received in the office of Josh Housman, Chairman of Scholarship Committee, PO Box 185, Marion, KS 66861, by February 1. Submit a copy of the student’s high school transcript signed by a school official. Must have two letters of recommendation. All students, online or otherwise, must be enrolled as a full-time student (at least 12 hours). All applications sent to us must be able to be printed on and 8 ½ x 11 sheet of paper. Verification of enrollment - Checks will not be sent until proof of full-time enrollment has been received and must show school name, name of scholarship winner, and full-time status (12 hours). Scholarship money will not be awarded until Fall Semester & Proof of Enrollment from your College. Checks will be sent to your County Weed Department so they can present the check to you and possibly get a picture of you with the check for the CWDAK newsletter.
