GENE BASE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Gene was a member of the Brookville Rounders Rodeo Club since its inception. ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, took Gene before his time. The Rounders want to keep Gene's memory alive by awarding a scholarship to a person from Ellsworth, Saline, or Dickinson County.
To be eligible for this scholarship the person must have at least a 2.5 GPA and be planning to attend a school of higher education: a four year college, a junior college, or a technical school. It is preferred that this person has an agricultural background or upbringing. $500 will be awarded for each semester of the school year. Applicant must maintain a 2.5 GPA the first semester to get the $500 for the second semester.
To apply for this scholarship you must fill out an application form and write a 100-150 word essay describing your background, hobbies, school activities, accomplishments, and future goals.
