Certified Nursing Assistants are responsible for the basic care of patients. They have different duties according to the experience and the type of facility they serve. Duties may include assisting patients who are unable to feed themselves, bathing, grooming, dressing, helping patients to move about, measuring intake and output, measuring and recording vital signs, making beds, observing the patients mental, physical, and emotional condition and reporting to the nursing or medical staff. Students need to be at least 16 or a Junior in high school if seeking college credit. The student must secure verification through their school principal before the end of spring semester even if they will have graduated. Verification form must be turned in with application.
