5th Grade students attend Match Madness
All ESE 5th Grade students participated in Match Madness today thanks for an anonymous donor who paid for bussing and donated $10 for each student to use for the event! Thank you!
Match Madness is a one day giving extravaganza where everyone in the community gives together to support local charities like the Zoo, Food Bank, YMCA, Library, Theatre, Boy/Girl Scouts, and other organizations that make our community special. The Community Foundation takes the student's $10 donation and puts it into a permanent fund or "savings account," that benefits the charity. That money grows over time and the interest earned is given back to the charity every year, sort of like a yearly "allowance" they can use for special needs and projects. The students spent time at 5 different nonprofit booths where they learned more about their organization and how they impact our local community. They then turn in their donation form to the nonprofit organization they chose.
