Ranita, the Frog Princess

One of Mrs. Billinger's 4th Grade classes has been reading *Ranita, the Frog Princess*. Yesterday, they presented a simple Reader's Theater. Once finished they completed a venn diagram to compare and contrast *The Princess and the Frog* and *Ranita, the Frog Princess*.

Reader's Theater helps kids get better at reading by acting out a script together. They focus on using expressive voices and gestures without needing to memorize lines or use props. It builds confidence, teamwork, and makes reading more fun!

*Ranita the Frog Princess* by Carmen Agra Deedy is a fun, Southern-style twist on "The Frog Prince." It’s set in Louisiana, where Princess Ranita gets turned into a frog by a witch and has to team up with a goofy but sweet Prince Felipe to break the spell. Full of humor, charm, and colorful illustrations by David Catrow, it’s a lively tale of friendship and being true to yourself.
