Ms. Cyre's 1st Grade Class Makes Tortillas

January 15, 2026

Today, Ms. Cyre’s first grade class made corn tortillas! 🌽

Students read two versions of The Little Red Hen and completed a Venn diagram to compare and contrast the stories. They then learned about the ingredients needed to make tortillas, mixed the dough, flattened it, and cooked their own tortillas.

What a great hands-on lesson that incorporated reading, writing, math, science, and real-world skills! 👏
